Up for sale is an original M73B1 scope with original G.I. rings, scope mount/base, base mounting screws and the impossible to find G.I. issue thin mounting plate/shim. I'm throwing in a couple of extra screws which I think are for the rings. Scope has 90% plus original finish. Scope plate is marked "TELESCOPE M73B1, PATD.-PATS. PEND., W.R.WEAVER CO., EL PASO, TEX., U.S.A.". Scope has the words "SERIAL NO." embossed into the tube on the right, rear side next to the scope plate. No serial number has been put on to this scope. Put your own on to match your rifle, if you are so inclined! Mount is a WWII "type three" version used during the war and is blued and is marked "REDFIELD PAT. NO. 1,837,290" on the right front. Rings are parkerized G.I. issue and are 3/4 inch with correct G.I. cyanide case hardened screws. Glass is blurry and it looks like the reticle thread inside is broken. Also has light tool marks from the teeth of some tool that someone used on this scope body sometime in the distant past, so I'm starting this one cheap. Tool marks are not too bad. Scope appears complete and repairs to the reticle thread and de-blurring of the glass should be a relatively inexpensive and easy fix for any competent gun/optics smith. This is a nice, complete scope set for someone wishing to finish off that M1903A4 build project. I was going to do it myself when I bought this some years back, but my gun collecting interests have moved toward older military firearms. Check out my other auction for a really rare and original Weaver 330 M-8 G.I. issue scope which is harder to find than the M73B1. Good luck bidding.
