Normal 0 Up for bid is a BEAUTIFUL “tiger stripe” 10/22 rifle stock. This is the factory finish, and it came off of a 1995 10/22 carbine. Out of all of the years I have been buying, building and shooting 10/22’s, this is by far the best looking one I have ever come across. The grain in the wood is absolutely amazing…pictures do it no justice. The grain appears to “shift” with different lightning conditions and has more detail, character and fiddleback than any stock I have ever seen come on a factory Ruger 10/22. Like mentioned, this stock came off of a 1995 Ruger 10/22 Carbine, and hasn’t been modified in any way. I bought the rifle with plans to build a bench rest competition type rifle, but I couldn’t bring myself to sand out the barrel channel for a .920 bull barrel like I originally planned. It still has the factory sporter taper barrel channel, and the factory finish on the wood. Unfortunately, the original owner of this rifle didn’t know what he had, and wasn’t as careful with the stock as he should have been. There is one small nick in the wood on the left side, towards the bottom (shown in one of the pictures), and a few small marks on the right side of the stock. Also, I don’t think the original owner knew what a gun safe was…the stock has quite a few little “indent lines” throughout the stock where it appears it was laid down on top of something. These aren’t scratches through the finish or deep into the wood, just little indention lines in the finish, which can easily be removed by somebody who is proficient at woodworking. Unfortunately, I don’t have the patience or the skill to bring this stock back to “showroom condition”. It is by no means beat up or in bad shape, it could be thrown on a good 10/22 action/barrel combo and it will draw attention and admiration wherever it is shot, but it isn’t in 100% condition anymore. The wood on the front where the factory barrel band goes seemed to miss a little bit of the finishing process from the factory also, you can see and feel a bit of the wood grain…but with the factory barrel band installed (not included), you won’t see any of that. I have tried to convey the condition and beauty of this stock as best that I can, but if anybody has any more questions or needs more detailed photo’s of anything, please ask and I will happily email more.
